I want to try running apple diagnostics to check my lcd screen, & I read up on how to do this, but it gets stuck searching for an internet connection.

I power on by pressing D & get the internet recovery screen, & then I get the dropdown choose a network, my network does not appear, I have to type in the name of my network and password, and then it just hangs.

It sees all other networks in my area except my own.

is there any way to run this diagnostic test without the internet?

I am doing this on a retina macbook pro 15 inch with Yosemite.

The odd thing is, while on normally my macbook can connect to the internet, but through diagnostics, it refuses to connect.
