Apple display vs iMac

Hi, now and there i read comments that apple cinema/tb display got better image than imac - is that true? Arent they same displays? Does apple display suffer same problems like imac display? (Yellow tinting, backlight bleeding, uneven backlight, ghosting) or is display really so superior to imac?

I have a 27" 2011 iMac and a 27" Apple Thunderbolt Display and they look identical to me.

I think people are probably referring to the older matt Cinema displays, rather than the newer glossy thunderbolt displays.
