Is there any way I can use my 20" Apple Cinema Display with a DVI input with either a PS3 or Xbox 360.

I understand that the Xbox sends out Analog signals that are incompatible with the display, is there any way to get round this?

For the PS3, you can get HDMI - DVI cables.

For the Xbox, depending on what model you have, if yours has HDMI, do the above route, if not, you can get a composite - VGA cable, then just tack on a DVI adapter, boom, done.

That's my thoughts, no idea if it would work though.

I've heard that the HDMI signal of the PS3 is HDCP protected all the time. Because the 20" Cinema Display doesn't have HDCP you won't get a picture using an HDMI --> DVI cable.

You heard right. You cant use the PS3 on an ACD without very expensive HDCP strippers which cost about the same as a new monitor.

I wish the PS3 would output a VGA signal natively then I could hook it up to my 20" Dell monitor. My 2005FPW doesn't have HDCP support either.

I tried to hook my PS3 up to my LG monitor using HDMI to DVI and failed miserably due to the HDCP or whatever it is called. Pissed me off actually.
