Has anyone else realised that Apple Watch is now just "Apple Watch"?
I haven't seen this documented anywhere, but I am assuming its since the series 5.
No more "Apple Watch Sport" and "Apple Watch Edition" branding.

Could be just to simplify it. I think they had to make this change to help the Apple Watch Studio to play out, as you can now get an aluminium case with a band such as the leather loop - something not offered when it was the "Sport". It also probably lets them offer endless combinations without being held back by naming.

Probably doesn't make any difference to anyone but I like discovering things like this.

Well they still have the Apple Watch Edition, Hermes and Nike. The other two are Series 5 and 3.

I would hope more than just you, since the Apple Watch Sport branding was actually dropped 3½ years ago with the launch of the Series 2.

As others have noted, there's still an Apple Watch Edition.

Marketing. If you think about it, the Apple Watch performs all the same functionality no matter which model you purchase. Consumers are smart enough to see which Apple Watch they want based off the price point, which obviously only leaves you certain options if you want an ‘entry-level’ Apple Watch, that’s the aluminum model anything else above, then you’re choosing the aesthetic Casing (i.e.-Stainless/Ti, ceramic.)
