I'm curious, if someone were to return there phone what happens as far as your contract goes. Since your starting a new two year contract when you bought the phone are you stuck for another two years if you were to return it or does it go back to your old contract date?

Once you return the phone, the contract can be negated.
You have to return the phone to the place it was purchased. So if purchased at AT&T you must return it to AT&T.

But if you purchased at the apple store you must send the return receipt to AT&T or bring it in to prove that you no longer have the phone in order to negate the contract.

Just be sure to hold on to all receipts for a few months so you have proof of return.

I think this is a decent move on Apple's part......a lot of people with this issue were grumbling about having to pay restocking fee.....now they can return it without issue.

Only if you can exchange it within the 30 day window.

which is standard for any phone, you have 30 days to return it, only thing that was at issue was that apple has a store policy of charging restocking fees on all products, and they are going to waive it in the case of the phone, there is really nothing to see here

Actually there is something to see. While this is older news, the restocking fee and allowance to return within 30 days is good. Hopefully it won't pave the way for the people who have to buy now but really want white. Those people are completely ignorant if you ask me.

Using the word ignorant to insult other people in a context that shows you don't know what the word ignorant means is also pretty ignorant IMO.

Using the word ignorant...

How would you describe that sort of behavior? Namely, purchasing a product with the clear intent of returning it in a few weeks and sticking the seller with the cost of cleaning it up and preparing it for resale.

Calling them ignorant is pretty kind, IMHO. It gives them the benefit of the doubt, by suggesting they're innocently unaware that others are subsidising their behavior.

OTOH, If they are aware of the true cost - but persist anyway - then they really are just selfish.

I find it hard to defend either position.

Hurry if you having problems and have to post about it hurry run return it now and be silent. I and your country thank you.
