Whilst watching a DVD the otherday using apple's own DVD player, some way into the film I ejected the DVD thinking it would stop the movie. However, the movie kept on playing!
I presume then, that after a while, my PowerBook (G4) cached the entire movie to Memory/Harddrive. Just wondering, as if I took my powerbook on a long journey for instance, not having to lose juice powering the DVD drive would extend battery life a lot longer.
I was just suprised this happened, and wondered if it is a standard known feature - as I have had my powerbook now for over 2 years and use it intensively for work and pleasure. Heh, even after 2 years, this Powerbook still makes me smile by suprising me
