Anyone know if the apple dvd player will be updated soon. I don't think I can stand watching anymore movies on the slither of a screen that appears between the huge black boarders...im sure it should be able to stretch out properly to fill the screen. The playstation is much better!

I have also noticed that the sound sometimes drops slighlty in volume, anyone else noticed this??

cheers

But the DVD player behaves exactly as it should - DVD movies are generally wider than the displays on which they are shown, hence the letterboxing... To fill the screen you would either have to lose a portion of the width of the image or stretch the image vertically and therefore distort it.

But then I'm the sort of person who gets annoyed by people watching 4:3 broadcasts stretched to 16:9 on widescreen TVs (making everything look fat - at least what you want may make things look slender, in a freaky sorta way).

The only true solution is to get a bigger display... ;)
