Can you use it (the Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic ) on OSX at the same time using just one port ? Id like to my skype call using them as I am doing it on my ipod touch

They'll probably only work as headphones - you'll need a separate mic, feeding another audio-in port or USB port (unfortunately for you, as you only want to use one port.)
They'll work as both headphones and microphone on MacBooks, iMacs and Mac Pros. The volume controls and clicker works too
