I want to use this promotion to save $300 on the new MacBook Pro, however I’m not a college student nor a parent of one. My daughter is only in 2nd grade. I just priced one out online and have gone as far as submitting order, it did not ask for any education ID verification. Does Apple regularly checking these? It seems too good to be true without any verifications in place.

I’m debating whether to have it ship to me or picking it up at an Apple store. I’m afraid the store gonna ask me for school ID if I order online and do store pick up. Anyone wants to chime in?

Are you or your 2nd class girl gonna use it?
Student discount is meant to help out student.

In the cases I have heard about (US), apple seldom ask for proof that you or the person is a student, but it is within their rights to do so. In many countries apple have moved to platforms such as myunidays where they handle verification through collaboration with education facilities. In Denmark were we do not have apple stores but a certified retailer (humac), you will be asked for documentation either in form of student ID card or letter of acceptance.

From my understanding, they rarely ask for verification, but if they do, you need to produce a school email address or student ID. They are quite lenient about it. But ordering one with a discount you don't deserve is certainly morally gray territory.

go to google, type education apple, then go to education pricing home page, choose the product you want, get the beats headphones, at the end of checkout, you will have to check a box to confirm that you "are or related" to member of educational institution, and that's it.

Everyone can use it.

With apple's pricing now days, I think everyone deserves a nice 10% discount and a nice pair of headphones if they want.

In the UK, we can sign up for an online course from Groupon for £9 and that makes you eligeble for a NUS student card, which is what you use to prove your a student. So you get all the discounts, but its legit
