Apple email and Gmail on Android question. (Deleted emails reappear)

Has anyone has luck adding Apple mail to Gmail on Android? No matter what I do, post set up, if I delete an apple email that arrives in Gmail, it reappears during the next sync?

Anyone have any tips? Outlook on Android works fine with Apple mail, but I prefer to use Gmail.

I have set up using the attached settings.
