Today my I went with my Dad when we went to go buy a MacBook. He asked the Apple employee if there was any price difference between the black one and the higher end white one. The employee actually told him there wasn't. What? There is a $200 price difference.

My dad was going to get the black one anyway, but I can't believe that an Apple store employee would either not know the price of one of their most popular computers or would knowingly lie. Do they get commission from their sales?

According to the Apple Store online you are paying $200 dollars more for 40Gigs of hard drive space on the black macbook as well.

Yeah, I was just shocked that the employee said that there was no price difference between the high end white and the black one.

Currently the price difference with the same equipment installed is $50. You say that this was a "higher end" white MacBook, was it a special maxed-out package or anything like that?

No, it was just the normal offerings. The same ones you see online.
By higher end white macbook I just mean the 2.0.
