I bought a new aluminum MacBook last week (the $1599 model) and have since started wishing I had bought the Pro, if only for the extra screen space and sound quality of the speakers. I figure that an extra $400 over $1600 wouldn't make that much difference in the long run. Does anyone have experience with exchanges at the Apple store? Another concern that I have is that I bought the MacBook with a student discount, which I'm not sure is reusable after an exchange. Advice???

You'll probably get charged a restocking fee, although since you're trading up to a pricier machine they might waive it if you get an accomodating manager and ask nicely.

Will I be able to reuse my student discount, since it would be an exchange and not a second purchase?

you should be able to get the student discount. btw it is 100 off the low 200 off the high.
