Apple Extended Keyboard 2 Mushy spacebar

I realise this is not powerpc as such but you can use one with a ppc!

I recently acquired an apple extended keyboard 2 and it is great, only problem is that the spacebar is a bit off. You have to push it in the middle otherwise if you hit it on just the left/right hand side just that side goes down the middle and opposite side do not go down and so the key press is not registered. I want to know if that is normal? Also how do I remove the spacebar to take a look? I tried pulling but it didn't want to come off and I was worried about doing some damage!

It sounds to me like it's not seated correctly. Pull the bar straight up to pop it off. There is a metal support bar on the underside that's hooked under two "tabs" in the base of the keyboard. You need to get all of these lined up before you press the key down and into place.
