Apple today announced it will be releasing new "Time to Walk" episodes for Apple Fitness+ subscribers starting June 28.

"Time to Walk" launched in January and features audio stories from influential people that Apple Watch users can listen to with AirPods or other wireless headphones while walking. The episodes are automatically downloaded to the Apple Watch with an Apple Fitness+ subscription, and users can start an episode directly from the Workout app.

Starting June 28, users can listen to an episode from "Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez, who talks about learning resilience from her dad and how she built confidence in everything from her body image to feeling part of a community.

Additional episodes coming next week will feature guests such as Olympic gold medalist boxer Anthony Joshua, supermodel and activist Naomi Campbell, writer and actor Stephen Fry, CNN's chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, and others.

On June 28, Apple Fitness+ will also be getting a new "Artist Spotlight" series, where the entire playlist for a workout is dedicated to a single music artist, starting with Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Lady Gaga. Apple said new workouts featuring each artist will appear in Apple Fitness+ every Monday for four weeks.

Last, Apple Fitness+ will be getting a new series of workouts from renowned fitness expert Jeanette Jenkins. On June 28, seven workouts with Jenkins focusing on high-intensity interval training and strength will be available.

Apple Fitness+ launched in December 2020, providing subscribers with access to a library of workout videos in the Fitness app, with new content added on a weekly basis. The service integrates personal metrics such as heart rate from the Apple Watch to motivate users, animating them on the screen during key moments in the workout.

Apple Fitness+ is currently available in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. After a one-month trial, the service is priced at $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year in the United States.

So when will it be available in more countries? An english version would probably be fine for most people, at least in Europe(?)

Going down the list of of contributors, looking for anyone I'd care to hear from, and it's just a wall of Nope.
Although if you're looking for a delightful audiobook for a long drive or airplane trip, I highly recommend Stephen Fry's The Ode Less Travelled.

I wish Apple was a little faster with workout uploads. The library just isn't big enough right now to compete with Peloton. I like the watch integration, especially seeing how Peloton seems to want to move away from GymKit, and I use the rower workouts because peloton doesn't have that option.

Agreed! I'd rather have the English version than some simpler production or even worse, dubbed, something that we very rarely do in Sweden (because it sucks).

Just release it and people may decide for themselves. I think it would be an instant hit in many European countries in English.

I am not a fan and wish there was a way to turn this off or at least remove it from the top of the activities list.

@TTTedP You can.

On your phone, go to Watch > Workout > Time To Walk, and turn off "Add Newest Workouts to Watch"

I'm sure they're great, but I already listen to a bunch of podcasts when I work out. I don't need or want these.

Honestly I'm surprised Fitness+ is continuing at all, let alone Time to Walk episodes. I guess if you've got that much money to burn, might as well stay warm.

I say this as a fanboy, Apple was late to the game and everyone else is already way ahead and doing things much better. Fitness+ came too late and while a great idea, it's not doing anything better than anyone else (even the random YouTuber) and it's geared far too much to beginners.

I haven't listened to any of the episodes. I haven't seen anyone I really care about listening to. If that changes, I will give it a go. Most of the time, I prefer walking or running in silence.

Is there a way to remove the Time to Walk workouts? I hate when I accidentally tap that and then my music cuts out. I would love to just get rid of them.

thx. Add new yes, but not remove altogether (at least not that I've seen). Its always at the top of the activity list on the watch itself and I've started a few by mistake.

This one feels too much like the U2 fiasco where they foist some paid celebrity content on us. Let me find my own content Apple without having your stuff persistently front & center.

The only workout app that works for me is Alo Moves.
However, found 'Time to Walk' the biggest source of inspiration during the pandemic.

If you turn them off like that, they stop showing up after the ones you’ve already downloaded “expire”. I haven’t seen one in months.
