Apple Fitness+ introduced new workout programs today. The previously announced lineup of content includes a new progressive strength training program designed to take the guesswork out of putting together the perfect routine, along with a conditioning program for pickleball.

Apple describes the new strength training course in its press release as follows:
Fitness+ unveils an all-new progressive strength program that guides users through the process of building and maintaining strength, with a focus on efficiency. The three-week guided program targets every major muscle group with 12 30-minute workouts: Progressive Overload (Week One), Time Under Tension (Week Two), and Dynamic Power (Week Three). Designed for results and repeatability, this foundational fitness routine is one that users can return to, adjusting weights as they grow stronger.
Alongside strength training, Apple has also introduced a new pickleball program designed to improve strength, endurance, and agility, as well as new workshop-style sessions called Yoga Peak Poses, which spotlight a single pose to help users build confidence and skill. There's also a new Introduction to Breath Meditation program. (Note that Breath is now a meditation theme in Fitness+, joining Calm, Sleep, and Sound.)

The new content is available to Apple Fitness+ subscribers from today on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Also starting Monday, Strava users can now share a Fitness+ workout directly to the Strava app, which will display rich details such as episode image and number, trainer name, and metrics to show to their Strava community.

I like Starting Strength.

The routine is super easy and focus on few exercises that use the most muscles. It’s A and B day, 3X per week for proper recovery. Easy to do, you just need to write down your progress.

It says user for ipad, how can I have it? I don't have the app, and don't have an iPhone

I don't get the whole "pickleball" craze we are going through. It is taking over small town rural America and staining the moral fabric (flannel) of an entire generation.

Doctors and PT's must love it

Older folks getting into something like Pickleball out of the blue are injuries waiting to happen

Not an "if", but a "when"

As an aging adult I've been through multiple injuries and setbacks when I cut 70lbs and got ripped over past 3 years. Totally worth it. Anyone trying to better themselves need encouraged until they are injured. "No rest till injury" is my motto.

Bravo to you!

Where I am (in Idaho, USA), just about everyone I see could stand to cut at least 25lbs and often a LOT more

Seems like a medical/insurance disaster waiting to happen with this much of the population out of shape and overweight

Oh the disaster is happening..... hope you don't need real medical care soon!

I happen to have Apple Fitness+ bundled with Apple One. I can't say I'd purchase it by itself personally, but I do thoroughly enjoy the "Time to Walk" series. I very much recommend the series for anyone easing into fitness or adding walking to their routine.

Good to know about this, but I will be very happy when the basic Fitness+ is made available in my region. Have been waiting for some time now. Hopefully soon.

I subscribe to Fitness+ for its rowing sessions, which turn the drudge of rowing on my Concept2 erg into a bit of fun. A good range of HIIT sprints and then my favourite part, Josh yelling "Shut it down!!"

For weight training, I use Liftin' which is infinitely configurable, has a great indie developer and doesn't price gouge. I'll have to check out this Progressive Strength program.

It’s the folks who either pretend they can still play tennis or pretend they can play tennis at all and are out of shape.

I’m intrigued by the new Strength program. I sort of outgrew their existing strength workouts last year while still enjoying the others, but always had a problem integrating a hybrid approach in my simple mind. I don’t need or want “gainz” and mounds of muscle, just to get leaner and stronger while continuing the other workouts.

So far I’ve done the first one and I didn’t find it all that different in format but it was certainly a step up from the usual fare. Their take on three phases of strength is very intriguing: progressive overload, time under tension and dynamic power. If this works it could be a game changer for cheap fitness platforms.

Lookin forward to the rest.

I just finished the new Three Perfect Weeks of Strength program. Overall I like it and AF+ desperately needed something like this. It’s far from “perfect”, but if you go heavier over time it will cover all major muscle groups. And the three weeks of different techniques for strength gains is rather interesting and fits better into what functional fitness is all about.

I recommend it.
