Apple Game Console

Imagine if Apple released a game console that played games from every next gen console. You could take you PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, DS and PSP games and play them on a single unit for say $200 . Also you can use the same controls for it and the PS3 and Wii Classic would control the PSP and DS games.

1) The plays everything under the sun and Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft would be OK with it

If Apple released a console today it would do what the iPhone did for phones, and what the iPod did for music.

1. They did. It was called the Pippin. It sucked eggs.
2. No, you couldn't. Each console has proprietary copyrights associated therein. It would be illegal to play these games without consent of the companies.

Could you elaborate? What is broken about the current console market?
