iPod Apple gave me a free song! (??)

When Lazy Sunday came on iTunes, I "gifted" it to my wife, so she could see it in the morning. I figured what the hell, its free right?

Well I just got this message from iTunes:

Dear iTunes Customer,



Thank you for recently sending a free video or song as a gift. While 
the recipient received the download free of charge, your account was 
inadvertently charged one cent ($0.01) per gift sent. 

We apologize for the error, and we've deposited a song credit into your 
account that's redeemable for a $0.99 cent song on iTunes. To view this 
credit, please sign in by clicking on the account button in the upper 
right-hand corner of the iTunes Music Store.

I never even saw the $0.01 leave my account. Now THATS customer service

I bet Apple was panicking when they saw that $0.01 charge.

"OMG! We accidentally charged him $0.01. We're going to get sued!!! Quick give him a free song!"

LOL. I read about a scam where people took fractions of pennies off transactions, but a whole crapload of them. That's the way to make money.

Ever wonder what that 9/10 was on your gas prices for? Now you know.

When I bought my 5G, I ordered an Itrip along with it, not knowing that it wouldn't work with the 5G (now I have the new iTrip). When it came and wasn't compatible, I called customer service and told them I bought it because it was on the list of available accessories on the checkout page, and they said next time to look for the 5G or Video symbol under it to make sure it's compatible, but they credited my card with the price of the iTrip + shipping and said to keep it. I gave it to my sister for Christmas.
