I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question but I google searched already and got mixed answers. Does anyone know if I can use an Apple gift card to purchase an iPad at Best Buy?

No, you can't. Apple Store or online store only. Edit: If you're wanting to do Best Buy for rewards points, you should know that you don't get points for purchases made with a gift card, anyway. You get them when you buy a gift card, but not when you redeem one.

That's not correct. You do earn reward points when you redeem gift cards.

Actually, it is correct.
Can I earn points when I purchase a Best Buy gift card?
Yes. You will earn points on Best Buy gift card purchases, but not on Best Buy gift card redemptions. Gift card purchases are excluded from all double, triple, and similar point promotions.

Very odd that they should do it that way. Seems like it should be the other way around...

I agree that it should be flopped. I understand why they don't allow both ways though. So people don't go buy $1000 worth of cards when they are wanting a TV then go back and pay for it with the cards and get double points. I do it at Kroger for fuel rewards
