Apple Gift Cards in the UK

Hi, not sure if this is the correct place to post but here goes..

I know you can get Apple gift cards in the US, not iTunes gift cards but the ones you can use to purchase hardware and software etc.

I was interested in obtaining one for Christmas here in the UK, but in the UK Apple store I can only find the iTunes card. Are they only available in the States?

Looks like your right

Andy having looked at both the US and UK sites under gift cards, it would appear that they are only for sale in the US.

The quote on the Gift Card micro site states

"The pressure's off. Now your friends and family can choose almost anything that Apple offers in its huge collection of Mac and iPod products at any Apple Store in the United States - online, by phone, and at an Apple Store near you. Just give an Apple Gift Card and the recipient can choose from qualifying products."

Looks like you are out of luck.

Apple Gift Card - uk

I was given one as a present in March, from the Bluewater Apple store:
but keep in mind you apparently can only use them in an actual store (not on the web apple store) and not to purchase iphones or itunes media - which is an unfortunate restriction
