Apple global warranty

Hi guys,

I've got a quick question.
I live in Belgium, and I'm planning on getting me a macbook pro.

If I buy one in the US, for example, and I'm having a problem with it here at home. I can't go all the way back to where I bought it to get it fixed.
So do I have to get the extended apple care protection plan to get it fixed here?
Or is the standard waranty enough to get it fixed in Belgium?

Perfect, thanks for sharing your experience.

I know it only covers manufacter defects, since I read a lot of people return their mbp because of a defect, I wanted to make sure that their waranty covers everywhere..
