Sure it's speculation; but that doesn't mean the opposite is necessarily true (which MVRL asserted).

Plus, I do think the timing of availability of the GPU is significant - if Apple doesn't include it first, competitors will include it just after Apple's release, and leap-frog Apple. Apple is also a major shareholder in Imagination, and has been an early adopter (earliest?) of their previous GPUs.

I can't find a reference for Imagination stating "Q3 2013" for consumer devices, but seem to recall seeing that before, in an official press release.

Apple has been among the first to push out chips with new GPUs from Imagination. If anyone is going to implement the PowerVR6-series first, than it's going to be Apple - either this year, or else next year.
We're currently using the PowerVR5-series.
