Hi all those hardcore Apple collectors - I was wondering if any of you could help me out?

I wish I had done better in downloading Apple's old hardware gallery qtvr movies. Does anyone know if there is an archive around or if they have a backup?

Thanks so much MacTech68 - There's three I can knock of the list. Let me know the best way to get the emac and ibook ones from you.

Looked thru my collection and have found the following:

20th Anniversary Macintosh (unsure of original filename)
030_005.mov (pb3400 QTVR for interest's sake)
aig.mov (Apple Icon Garden - in case you've never seen it)
imac_dots_480.mov (Blue Dalmation Slot Load iMac)
imac-qtvr.mov (Original Bondi 233 iMac)
mar20_cinema_hd_qtvr480a.mov
pmg4_aug2002_qtvr480.mov (Mirror Drive Doors G4)
qtvr_pmg4_480_a.mov (which is actually a Digital Audio G4 - 4 PCI Slots)
yosemite480.mov (G3 Blue&White Tower)

I have many more, but you've not requested them so I assume you have them.

I'd love to know if this project will be available anywhere as I don't have all of them myself. I'm more focused on TVCs.

Same location as previous but "2" instead of "1" ;)

I'm also interested in this project of yours. I have a few of these, but I don't remember which ones. I may have to dig them out now.

Mactech68 & Intell - I'll definitely share my results with you since you guys have shown interest and have helped out. I will get my QTVR files together and post them online for you to look at and download if you see any you don't have. I also have one of the most complete Apple Ads and Product Intro movie collections I know of that you can check out. It may take a day or two since I'm in the middle of my work week with 12hr shifts. I'll keep you updated.

When I signed up with MacRumors I checked the option for people to be able to e-mail me. I'm not sure how it works but if you know - send me a quick message and maybe I can send the link that way.

I originally got my list together from this page:
http://homepage.mac.com/takacam01bigd/ads/index.html#QTVR

I tried contacting the guy to do some trades but got no reply. He lists the The Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh as a 320x320 (3.2 MB) file and it looks like it has a different view angle than the one I received from you Mactech68, so there still may be another version out there.

Two Last Things To Note:

1. I think Apple has permanently has given up on using QTVR for their products. See my other post here.
I have the latest ipod Nano, iPod Touch, Macbooks, and iPhone 3GS movie files before they were converted to HTML 5 360 view. I never saw the iPod Classic, iPad, nor iPhone 4 released in QTVR format.

2. I thought I remember a G4 tower QTVR that when rotated also had a gold Optical Disc spit out of the DVD Drive. I thought it was with the G4 towers that first had the DVD burner, however I may be mistaking this with the 8600 Tower which also spits out a disc. If anyone does know of a QTVR movie like this let me know.

I'm pretty sure that's all I have, unless I have some "sort later" folders somewhere.... but where? ;)

I recall a PowerBook (1400?) having a gold disk and the 8600 or G3 Minitower having a gold disk.

One day, I must copy all my TVCs and videos to a single drive and sort them. They are reasonably sorted, but not as well as I'd like.

Thanks for the link. It may be a copy of the TAM VR video I'm looking for, only its converted into Flash so you can't really control it like a true QTVR file. you can only play it one way. I'm hoping someone would still have the QTVR version though.

Check the comments below the video. There's a 500x500 QTVR of the TAM as a zip file. Not a 320x320 but hey, nice all the same.

:)

my bad, good catch. Wish I could get the top one as an original too. I'll try joining the site and see if they still have it.

This is my QTVR Collection. If you want anything from it post ;)

Can everyone who has QTVR files of Apple devices please give them to me. I plan to start an online archive where people can view and download QTVRs of Apple products. I am a 11 year old Apple geek who wasn't around to copy them back then and didn't even now what QTVR was but now I do and I want all the files I can get. :apple: on! This is my first post.
