I did an apple hardware test last night after I upgraded to 4gb ram. Test came out fine, but the test said "pass number: 1" near the bottom. What does that mean?

The pass number represent how many times all the tests were done. Usually you can set how many passes you want to run before starting the check, and the sftware will perform all the test in a row and then repeat the tests again and again.

Some hardware issues are detected only after many passes, so the necessity to cycle through the test more than one time.
