Maybe someone out there can answer this. I see that when you take a photo on a newer iPhone or iPad, that the image is HDR. Not in the sense of having a more dynamic range look, but when viewed on a hdr display, the brightness of highlights go above base white of a standard image of 100 nits. Like Dolby vision, but for photos. Apple is doing something, because if you import into photopea, a separate layer shows up and it’s a map of the specular highlights.
But I would like to edit those, but whenever i import into another editing app, the hdr look goes away and you have a normal looking photo as far as the specular highlights go. I can edit with apples photo app to keep it, but it’s limited. Any ideas on how to edit these elsewhere and retain the HDR look?
