Here's the scoop - I was/am a Mobile ME user. I have a mobile me @ address. I just converted it to an iCloud account per the switch link from Apple. Before, you could not use an @me address that was a mobile me. So I created a new @me which is firstname.lastname@me and used that.

Here's my dilema - I want to use my first.lastname@me.com for ALL of my iCloud and Apple ID. However, when I use that to sign in to icloud on my phone, it shows my apple id @gmail.com as my account and if I go inside, it does show my first.lastname@me.com for my icloud email. Why is it doing that?

If I go to the website and try to change my appleid to my @me address, it says it can't use a mobile me email address.. wtf? This is confusing as ****.

So I have 2 @me address' and I really only care to use one for EVERYTHING because less confusion makes me happy.

Any ideas? Should I just wait it out? On top of all that, friends and family also needs an email address to use with it. Blah.
