Apple ID option no longer available in File Sharing

Has anyone else noticed that, when connecting to another Mac on the local network, the Apple ID option is no longer available? The Apple Support page on the subject hasn't been updated to reflect this, still stating that Apple ID should be an option, so I'm hoping this is only a bug. Why are there always so many networking/connectivity issues every time MacOS is updated? If it ain't broke...
