I have an email that I no longer have access to as my Apple ID, I see that there is a change Apple ID option, but will that transfer all of the purchases I made on the current ID to the new one I change it to?

I think you would have to call Apple to get all of your stuff moved to a new ID.

Unfortunately there is no way to transfer purchased content from one AppleID to another. You can continue to use your old AppleID to redownload those purchases, but only make new purchases with your new AppleID. I've been in this boat for about 5 years now. Don't have access to my original AppleID email address as an email, but it still works for AppleID downloads.

You can rename your Apple ID to your new email address or just add your new email address as an additional one - maybe as rescue email address

You don't have to acquire a rescue E-mail if you so choose.

Well I would recommend it so you can change your password in case you want to leave your Apple ID the way it is.
