Apple ID switching help

I am getting a new apple Id and I already know that I will have to repurchase my songs and apps but when I sync my phone to my new apple Id will all my old contacts and photos and videos go away?

yea I'm pretty sure apple has made it impossible to switch the apple ids without losing things. i think it is stupid but its probably so that people buy more and don't share their iTunes items they bought
