Someone told me that when you use apple Community that your Apple ID is displayed with your post. Is this true?
I obviously don't want my apple ID/email displayed.

I don’t think so that forum officially from  has different rules than here and highly discourage people from sharing information about Apple ID without permission. It’s only to sign up for an account on Apple support communities.

I've been using apple for about a year and would like to use the apple community. I understand you have to log in with Apple ID. Does this mean that your apple ID is visible on the message boards when you post?

When I made an account it asked me to create a username. That’s what shows up on my posts. It’s been a few years so this might have changed

Nothing about Apple ID (now Apple Account) in Registration FAQs.
As your Apple Account name is just an email address, you might use that same email address, but you can also register using your Facebook login, or Twitter (or whatever twitter is called now, Looks like the FAQ was last updated 9 years ago, but nothing that requires you to login with your Apple Account. And, you provide a username (as mentioned already) and again, there's nothing that requires you to use your Apple Account name in the registration process. You can still make your own username, and that is what you can see on the messge boards when you post.
