Apple Intelligence and 15pro

I’m liking the direction it’s taking but what are the differences between the 16 pro and 15 pro as far as future operational capability? Also I’m currently noticing on my 15 pro massive battery drain but that could just be because it’s beta.

No one (including reviewers of the 16 who are under embargo) can answer that until the 16 is out. Plus, what do you mean by "future operational capability"?

This isn’t beta related. Apple is going to be releasing future updates with additional functionality. The cpu is different so asking what the 16pro will do that the 15pro won’t

I don't think there will be much difference between 15 Pro and 16 Pro in the future except for camera features, which Apple likes to use to use to entice upgrading to new devices.

There doesn't seem to be any major changes between the A17 Pro and A18 Pro SoC's. CPU count, GPU count, Neural Engine Cores and RAM are all the same between both chips. Yes, the A18 Pro is using newer 2nd gen 3nm process but improvements aren't as big as moving from 5nm to 3nm.

Visual Intelligence is exclusive to the 16 series
Apple Intelligence is 15% faster on an A18 Pro
(Yes, the neural engine has the same cores, but they improved the memory bandwidth by 17%, hence the speed bump.)

Also keep in mind that "future operational capability" will still be RAM limited. Rumors already suggest the iPhone 17 Pro is going to 12 GB RAM, so there will be some future Apple Intelligence features that the iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro might never get.

Right now feature-wise the multi track audio recording feature requires a 16 Pro. As well as anything that uses the new cameras or Camera Control (other than potentially Visual Intelligence which they haven't confirmed either way).
