I switch on Apple Intelligence with 18.1 and I was seeing terrible battery drain.
How is your experience with AI and your battery.

I think when you initially turn it on, it downloads certain things so it can do AI on device. Leave it a couple days and see if it settles down

It was more pronounced just after the update as it was still indexing and there was a notification of processes running in the background temporarily. However, since that notification went away the battery hit is smaller. Overall, I'd say the battery life is still noticeably better than my 14 Pro was when it was also new. We'll see what 18.2 brings

I don't have ai on my 15 Plus but since I installed 18.1 my battery life is noticeably worse so I don't think it has anything to do with ai.

It was definitely causing a lot of idle battery drain on my 16 Pro. I turned it off for now and battery improved. I’ll try it again when we get more features the next update.

I've noticed some unexpected battery drain on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, likely due to Apple Intelligence running background tasks.

Apple Ai is a battery hog for sure. In essence for those that use it , they won’t have an all day battery anymore. I believe Apple should have increased battery capacity by a much larger percentage than they did for the 16 series. Roll on the 17 series I guess.
