Apple may be getting closer to bringing Apple Intelligence to China, based on an Apple Intelligence feedback form that recently launched on the company's website. The form requires a +86 telephone number for feedback to be submitted, which suggests that it is designed for Apple users located in China rather than those who simply speak Chinese.

The site is designed to allow customers to share feedback on Apple Intelligence, reporting information about content, privacy, and general functionality.

Customers can submit feedback on Writing Tools, the Photos Clean Up tool, notification summaries, the Reduce Interruptions Focus Mode, priority Mail messages, Smart Replies in Mail and Messages, and summaries in Mail, Messages, Safari, and Call Recordings in the Notes app.

As of right now, no Apple Intelligence features are available in China. Apple has been working to expand Apple Intelligence to China since the launch of iOS 18, but it has to partner with a Chinese AI company to deliver the AI functionality.

Apple has teamed up with Alibaba for Apple Intelligence, but the rollout of the feature set was delayed in June due to ongoing trade issues between the United States and China. The U.S. and China have since reached a trade and tariff truce, which means Apple could soon clear regulatory hurdles.

iOS 26.2 will be the last version of iOS that launches before the end of the year, and it's possible that Apple might be able to implement support in the update if it has earned China's approval. There are no signs of Apple Intelligence support in China in the betas so far, and neither Apple nor Alibaba have provided a potential release date.

Update: Apple has removed the feedback form from its website.

I don't get this. Apple Intelligence is not yet available in China, yet they are now soliciting feedback on Apple Intelligence with the option to follow-up by phone? Are they pre-emptively inviting people to bash Apple Intelligence, or what?

Looking at the current Apple Intelligence feature set, there really isn't much for customers to comment on, anyway, even if it were available.

I feel for you all in China - don't do the work for Cook.

But what do I know, I turned off Siri years ago, and notthing, absolutely nothing, I've heard have changed my mind.
Well, good for you, I don’t know why people have such a hard time with it? I know it’s not the best but it works great especially the upgraded AI version. Yes I know not the one we are waiting for.
Siri got better with iOS 18.4 with ChatGPT backing it up so what are you missing?

I don’t see Apple blaming China publicly like how they blame the EU commission. It’s AI at this point !!!

AI= Apple Incompetence
Apple risks losing the entire Chinese market (now more fragile than ever) if they ever speak up on anything other than strictly business related. So yeah, Apple will not blame China publicly and hopefully never will.

I don’t use Siri and I never used Siri, nor any of those AI tools provided by Apple. I don’t feel missing out on anything. And chances are, if the person you replied to didn’t feel missing out on anything before, he likely won’t feel missing out on anything today either, unless something happens and changes his mind.

I was in China before and let someone try the Apple Intelligence on my non-chinese phone…they asked me what’s so special about it. They couldn’t see anything worth using it for. I didn’t give my opinion to them but inside I felt the same way. Nothing special about it and really no use for it at all.

I think Apple is actually in a good strategic position on AI going forward, with strong privacy measures, access to highly personal user data including health, and unparalleled on-device processing capabilities. But I can’t pretend to find much value in the existing Apple Intelligence features. I wouldn’t miss them if they all disappeared tomorrow.

I was recently sent a survey about my recent iPhone Air purchase that included a bunch of questions on how much Apple Intelligence influenced my purchase decision. I had to be honest that it had zero impact on my decision or my experience with device. They’re convenient here and there and that’s about it. Apple is just getting started on their vision, so I hope Apple Intelligence features get a lot more compelling over the next couple years.

I've not seen anything that I would label Apple Intelligence. Zero AI from Siri... every question results in "Shall I ask ChatGPT that?" Does Apple provide anything? Seems like zip compared to Google, Microsoft, and the obvious AI players.

Go to the AI menu and turn off ask ChatGPT. It will go straight to ChatGPT and you won’t even know or simply say ChatGPT instead of Siri come on man.

They’ve already began installing their server Farm called Apple cloud compute. Obviously with their own custom chips it’s only a matter of time. People are so impatient. In the meantime they’ll use Gemini on parts of it for Siri and that’s it.

I think Apple should stop using the word “ Intelligence” with their "AI" products. There's no intelligence whatsoever.

Has anyone used Playground!?

Don't think it will be available by end of the year in China. Probably will take a few more months or even till next WWDC for it to launch.

I'd say China's policy is what apple favors, EU advocates for open up Apple ecosystem, but Chinese authorities want the opposite. They want people who use iPhone can't sideload apps.
