Apple iPhone X Leather Folio Black

Today I already got the Apple iPhone X Folio Case in black leather.

Initial impression is positive but IMO real leather should smell which this leather does not, as with other leather products form Apple

yes definitely, my big nose say it is very cheap plastic

...but after sticking my nose in the case to smell on the other parts, I finally could smell some leather odour

In their strive for perfection, Apple want their leather as artificial as possible.

PS I used Twelve South BookBooks for the last 6 years but was not very happy with their stitching quality. Let's see how the Apple case behaves...

I think the whole case is leather. They seem to put a layer of wax on the outside to help protect it. Other cases don't do this as much and they show wear over time. I've used the leather sleeve for my iPad and it feels about the same as this, but it doesn't show nearly as much wear. It protects it, but also has the effect of sealing in that signature leather smell.

you are completely right... sorry about this, was too preoccupied with Apple Watch Series 3 issues the whole week
