Apple IS pushing app updates!?

This has happened twice now...

I dont visit the app store but sometimes i unlock the phone and the app store icon has a new badge.. strange.. so i went into it and bingo, there was an update.. the last time it was for "what the font", and know it isnt a co incidence because i would of updated it straight away if i saw an update whilst in the app store..

Any one else had a "pushed" app update badge?

it is very possible that this is not a push, but a random check, the phone might check automatically once a day/week or something. i want to say i saw this pre 3.0 also.

this has happened to me since 2.0
i'm not sure if it's push but it might just be a random check like stated before

Once you delete an app it checks also.

I have my e-mail set to check manually, but lately i've noticed that when I'm in a phone call, my phone will vibrate and the "new e-mail" tone will play notifying me of new emails. I don't know why it checks for emails while I'm on a call though.
