I took my 13" MacBook Pro into the SF Apple store this past weekend due to the DVD drive having some issues (beer was spilt on it about 4 months ago). The Genius opened it up and pointed out the water damage and how it was not under warranty, but that "this one time" they will send it in and have it fixed and/or replaced free of charge.

How often does Apple do this? He saved me $800+!

Guess it shows to always take your broken products in, never know what's gonna happen..

i brought my old 13" in a few weeks back with water dripping out of the USB ports. they took it back and gave me a brand new one. it was over a year old

And THIS is why Apple will continue to have return sales time and time again. Their customer service is 2nd to none.
