On the website of Apple it says:

- Only iPhone has retina display.

Except that the Samsung Galaxy S4 has a greater pixel density than the iPhone 5 and other phones also have such high resolution screens.

*sigh*

That doesn't make them retina displays.

I was under the impression that retina displays are displays with high enough pixel density that the human eye is unable to notice pixelation at a typical viewing distance?

Good for you for figuring that out! You should go buy a galaxy S4 then.

You'll be missed. ;)

It's just a stupid marketing term.

And you're the first person in here to subliminally insult others based on a slight misunderstanding as is so typical in any thread mentioning Samsung. Only took 5 posts too, good job.

Retina display is just a marketing term apple coined because the pixel density is so great that you can't see the pixels with your eye..... Yes there are other phones with greater pixel density, but it doesn't mean apple is lying cause only iPhone has a "retina" display. It's just a marketing, don't take it seriously.

"Retina Display" is an Apple trademark. Only Apple devices have a "Retina Display."

They're not saying other devices don't have higher density screens, they just picked their words very carefully.

It's not a lie.
