Hi, I don't know where to post this so since I'm asking for tips and advice for buying, I figured it belongs here. Sorry if it doesn't.

I am trying to buy iTunes / Apple gift cards off craigslist to save some money, but is there any tips on how to know if the offers are legit? I mean of course I'm going to be in person and going to see if the card is tampered or even put in the code on the spot, but I'm asking for the less obvious stuff.

Is it possible that they can get a refund or re-take back the credit once it's already in my account?

I tried searching for this information on google but I came up short. Thanks for any help.

They can't take it off your account, but if people are selling them for less than they are worth, they are more than likely a scam.

So I plan to contact the craigslist advertiser
2) meet in person
3) input gift card code into phone and verify that credit has been given
4) pay for transaction
5) leave

Is there anything wrong with what I have in mind? So once it shows up on my phone, it's mine right?

That will work, provided that the seller is ok with that.
