I checked with Citizens One but wanted to double check.

I purchased an 11 pro and exchanged for the max. I’m still on the fence and think I may go back to the 11 pro while still in my 14 day period.

During the exchange, they basically cancel out the loan and you reapply for a new one for the device you are switching to.

Citizens One stated that during the 14 day window, there are no additional credit pulls.

If anyone has done this, I just want to confirm that they didn’t end up finding multiple credit pulls at a later date, just the original if they did an exchange on the IUP.

Thanks!

I believe it’s it’s within a month, there is only one pull. When I first started the iup back when the 7 came out, I returned it, canceling out the loan and re did it for a different model and only 1 hard hit was inquired and not multiple.

It depends. They may or may not do another credit check.

"If you’re a current member of the iPhone Upgrade Program and enter the Social Security number you used when you first joined the program, your application will be conveniently autofilled with the information that’s already on file with Citizens One. Citizens One reserves the right to perform a credit inquiry as needed to determine loan eligibility. Depending on your account performance and transactional history in the iPhone Upgrade Program, Citizens One may approve your new loan application without your credit being impacted."

I did this at launch. Ordered the 11 Pro (coming from a XS Max). Didn't like it. Returned the 11 Pro and got the Pro Max. No extra credit check.

They may do another credit check, but if it's within 30 days, and its the same finance company, it only counts toward your credit as one pull. For what it's worth, I've been in iUP since the first year, and have done a couple of exchanges along the way that resulted in one loan being closed and replaced with another, and I've never seen a hard pull from them (and I watch my credit like a hawk).

They only pulled once for me. I had ordered online for delivery. Then one day I saw some available in store so I cancelled that order and placed another. They didn’t pull twice.
