Carrier Apple IUP home delivery-Had to call tmobile for sim-activation

Hi-
Got my 2 phones just fine.

This year was the first time I placed an IUP order to my house, instead of picking up from the store.

Turned on the new phone, I put my old phone next to the new one. IOS12 was able to migrate my icloud and account stuff quickly. Then I got the message that it have to call T mobile and provide ICCID and simd card numbers in order to activate sim card.

That took forever, as tmobile was busy with too many calls.

During my pre-order and order, apple took my account/ssn information, i still do not know why I had to call t mobile to activate my sim card.


Anyone else had similar experience?

Just take the sim out of your old phone if it’s nano and put it in the new one. That’s what I did.

The sim on new phone is blank sim !!

Apple take your info to security your account !!

Just put old sim card to new phone and done !

As I wrote, I called T-mobile and activated the new SIMs already. It was easy other than hold time...

The reason I shared this here was I've never experienced this on my previous iphone launches.

I got the same message but just waited 5 minutes or so and the sim (from my old phone) activated automatically.

I did two SIM activations via DM on Twitter around 8pm on Friday and it only took around 10 minutes. Wait times on the phone were over 30 minutes.
