haha naturally there would be a driver update the day after i order a new printer. and naturally, there would now be working drivers for my old computer.

guess i'll just try and return the new one.

I think this update was there already, I have an HP cm1312NFI and I also got the update after updating to 10.6.1 in the 10.6.1 notes it states they fixed a problem where not all printer drivers were showing up in the Software Update, did everyone else who got this HP Printer Update also get it after updating to 10.6.1?

OT: why am I forced to update my printer?

Hi,

I am using a HP LaserJet printer and it works since Leopard without problems. I have all "functions" such as duplex etc...
So why am I reminded on each general software update to update my HP printer drivers? Is there a way to tell mac: "NO I do not want any further printer driver updates for now!"? (I had like 5 hp printer updates within 6 months which are always heavy, like 40MB to download for no use)
