So I have been having this issue for like 2 years, and it is beyond aggravating.

I have an apple account and an iPod registered to it. I have purchased lots of music using iTunes, and I periodically sync my ipod to my library on my mac.

If I do an automatic or manual sync, I still have the same problem, which is that songs will download to the device so I can play them offline, but then a few months later, the songs are back in the "cloud" and need to be downloaded to the ipod again.

In other words, Apple pulls the file off the device and puts it back in the cloud. About 40% of my music vanishes of the ipod on a regular basis, replaced by the grey "place-holder" and a cloud symbol (meaning I have to re-download).

Anyone else having this issue?

I realize I’m real late with this, but I’ve seen this too.
I had a huge collection of CDs ripped into Itunes and any number of times I’ve had to re-download some of these albums back out of the cloud so I can play them. It’s like, WTF? That is my own music, not Apples! If I were to leave AM I’d lose all the music they decided was theirs and not mine. S
