apple keyboard clear key?

i have the apple keyboard with the numeric keypad, but i can't find any use with the clear key. it would've been so useful if it could clear the whole text entry, but it doesn't. anyone know what else it's for besides clearing the entry in calculator?

Try using the Calculator app's Help function:

You can also press the "c" key on your keyboard.

The Clear key can also be used as the Num Lock key if you're running Windows in Boot Camp, and some applications have specific functions that the Clear key performs.
