Hello all. I have a LaserWriter 630 Pro and the formatter board is out. I can't find a replacement for it but I can find a 12/600 PS board. It looks like it'll connect and work, but I'm wondering if anyone has first hand experience with this?

Thanks and regards,

I know of no responsible person who would try such a thing. The LaserWriter Pro 630 and the LaserWriter 16/600 superficially appear to have very similar cases and also accept the same toner cartridges. However, the two printers use fundamentally different processors. The Pro 630 uses a 25 MHz Motorola 68030; the 16/600 uses a 25 MHz AMD 29030. I would be astonished if the support electronics were compatible. You might do well to try to locate schematics of each printer.
