I got a used 15" Apple LCD Studio Display (1st Gen with DVI) with low price from internet classified ads to be used for my Mac Mini. Unfortunately when I turned it on, it shows a vertical green line from the top 'till half of the height of the monitor? Is it dead pixel or may be the cable is loose? Is it possible for me to repair it?

Sounds like it might be the Apple LCD that has the problem. Although I guess it could be the cable. Can you ask the seller of the item to see if they had this or a similar problem with it?

it is a very old lcd and lcd's have a shorter shelf life than crt's so it might just be natural degredation from use(the 15" was released in 2000 or earlier if it was the 1st gen) so it has had a long life
good luck, it is not a cable problem
