Apple leather case protection??

I currently have my IP6 in a Black Apple Leather case, and think it is one of the best cases out there. The case has a few scars from drops to include drops on concrete, but with black, a quick touch up with a magic marker is all it needed to look good again. Overall, the case has protected my IP 6.

I'd like to get the Apple Leather case for my IP 7Plus, but since the IP 7Plus is larger and heavier, I have some concerns that it will protect the 7Plus as well as the IP6.

Would like some insight from you guys who have had the IP 6Plus as to how well the Apple Leather Case has protected/not protected your phone.

It's the same case it'll protect the phone the same way. Is the phone heavier? Yes. But the difference isn't quantifiable unless you buy multiple phones and do multiple drop tests.

All in all, expect the same performance and protection.
