Apple leather case so thin? Protect?

Wow the apple leather case is paper thin. Anyone think this will protect vs drops?

Meant the iphone 6 one
 
I dropped my 5s on the concrete while it was in an Apple leather case and it protected it. Not sure how much thinner the 6 case is though.
