I would expect fading from any leather product.

I've had mine on for 3 hours and I absolutely love it. I had the Incipio Frequency on my 5 for the past year and used it for the first week of having my 5s before Apple offered me their black leather case.

In regards to the color fading, it says right on the packaging that the appearance will change with use. Personally, I'm looking forward to the worn leather look.
