Hi all,

I have just switched back to the Apple leather case from the Apple silicone case and I’ve found that with the leather case my phone feels lighter and less bulky. Is it just me or does anyone feel the same. For reference it’s a iPhone 11Pro.

My wife uses the leather case and I use the silicone. I do agree the leather seems less bulky, but I like the silicone as it give more grip.

I like the Silicone for the colour options. From the colour options that the leather case offers I only like the midnight blue. Wish leather had the same colours as the silicone one

I used to use the white silicone case, and going back to leather it felt great. It’s not as bulky and much lighter. You‘ll get more grip overtime as the case patinas.

It definitely feels thinner and less bulky. And it picks up so much less pocket lint. I prefer the leather over silicone.

After years of only using the saddle brown leather cases, I got a silicone case last year for use during the summer (sweat and sunscreen). For a while I would switch between the two, but I eventually decided that I prefer the silicone, so the aged but loved leather case stays in it’s original box.

I’m still using (and loving) my iPhone X so the only “Apple” silicone cases available to fit the X perfectly are the counterfeit ones. I’ve worn out a flash one, a black one, and am now on white. My next iPhone will be purchased with a white Apple silicone case because it’s my favorite so far.

EDIT: Leather is more luxurious in the hand and easier to slip in and out of a tight front pocket. It's also more likely to fall out of a loose gym shorts pocket when sitting down.

For various reasons, my phone is rarely in my pockets as much as before, so I now prefer silicone over leather because it's easier to lift from a table and sounds better being set back down, especially on glass. At home a lot more and being casual and tossing the phone around the bed more than usual, silicone grips where leather slips.

In the end I probably prefer to touch the leather one. The silicone, after sometime isn’t pleasant to touch.

This. The silicone becomes sticky after a time (not dirty, the case itself is sticky) while the leather actually feels better with age.

I should have been more specific. More durable in terms occasional drops. The silicone seems to handle it better.
Understood 👍🏻. Few fall for me with both, luckily 😅 one of the worst with a red leather that hold quite well: only some marks and scuffs. With silicones, one bad experience with 7: after a medium fall at home, a scuff in the right superior angle that became a total peeling of the case.

According to Google the leather case weighs 3.17 ounces (approx 89 grams), and the silicone case weighs 1.41 ounces (approx 40 grams) - both 56.52 x 27.93 x 3.03 inches.

Leather one is definetely lighter :)
