I'm thinking of getting a Mac Pro with the new LED display

But as I understand the current situation, the 24in LED display needs a mini-displayport connector to connect it to the Mac Pro, and these are only 42in long or so.

Does that make it impossible to connect the display to the computer? Or is there some workaround, or other lead/ connection solution that I'm missing?

I don't want the Mac Pro on the desk or underneath by my legs. So it would have to go to one side of the desk, and this means the lead needs to be a bit more than 42in. Apple don't sell an extender cable.

Then you're out of luck. Either you place the Mac Pro elsewhere or you look for another monitor.

The 24" display was never intended for use with the Mac Pro. Its short cable is designed for a MacBook Pro that sits next to the monitor.

Unfortunately we're all waiting for new displays that work with the Pro.
