Apple LED/Thunderbolt Cinema Display & Windows (No Boot Camp)

We all know by now that it works fine to connect an Apple Cinema Display to a computer running Windows. Still it seems to be a lot of different information around the web regarding the control over brightness. Most posts that I've found regarding this issue is rather old or not related to the latest version of Boot Camp (4.1).

Which is the best solution for managing brightness today?
  • Connecting the screen to a Mac is one solution.

Please only provide solutions that has been tested.
